Trading activity services and information, all on a single desktop console
PT Five is a front-end application installed on the user’s client server and, as such, many of the functions are made available by the software installed on site. The application is, however, strictly divided into three different application layers integrated into a single trading activity services and information desktop console
:: The first level is located on the user’s machine and is updated automatically every time the user logs on to the service provider’s server. It handles the man-machine interface and the presentation of the application contents, as well as the availability of all desktop console functionalities..
:: The second level handles the integration and provision of the services required for consultancy and trading activities. This layer is a FINANCIAL BUS that integrates the two main services offered by the client, namely, instruction and account management activities (placement and cancellation of orders, viewing of portfolios, status of orders) and the information made available by the information providers with regard to real-time quotes, news, etc.
The presence of this layer permits the development of value-added services from existing basic services, and permits these functions to be made available even on channels other than PTfive (mobile delivery, via fax or HTML website).
:: At the third level there are certain business logic components that are, in some cases, linked to external components (back office or virtual financial account management systems, information provider feeds) or to user management components, such as identity, profiling and preferences. The centralised location of these logic units allows the end user to connect from different PCs and to always find the same configuration in terms of pre-set windows, colours, watchlists, etc.
